Investment Adviser Representative

Teaching & Coaching

As a first-year undergrad at Waynesburg University, Kyle envisioned his professional career in teaching or coaching. It was during a finance class that Kyle gained hands-on investment and trading experience in Waynesburg’s Student Trading Room. The exercise showed Kyle that the real-life applications of finance were a means for him to both teach and coach, building relationships beyond a single semester or season. He immediately set about making the classroom experience real by researching financial questions for family and friends, investing his personal savings, and by founding and acting as President of the Student Investment Club. Kyle graduated from Waynesburg with his Masters in Business Administration, ready to educate in the field of financial planning.

Cultivating Relationships

After graduation, Kyle spent time as a Representative for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he won national recognition for his excellent client service, but felt that assisting people with their insurance planning was only one facet of the dynamic, long-term relationships he might develop with clients. As a financial advisor, Kyle knew he would be able to do more to help his clients to plan for their financial security, regardless of where they might be in their financial journey. He joined the team at DSF Wealth Management Group, LLC in 2013 and has focused on building a comprehensive financial services practice by cultivating client relationships for the long term, while setting a standard of service that inspires clients to approach their financial planning as a lifestyle and tradition, rather than a chore.

Building Tradition

Building tradition represents an important part of Kyle’s professional practice, as well as his personal life. He and his wife, Carly, live in Scott Township, but still maintain their connection to Waynesburg, where they first met. Kyle spent several years after graduation as an Assistant Coach for the football team and returned to the classroom as a professor for the Business Department. He added the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM (CFP®) Designation to his credentials in 2017 as part of his own continuing education.

Kyle is a member at Chartiers Country Club in Pittsburgh and plays in a number of amateur golf tournaments each year with friends, clients, and colleagues. He and Carly attend the South Hills Bible Chapel, where they are actively involved, and Kyle also mentors at-risk youth through the BRIDGE Community Outreach Program. Kyle includes time at the gym with workout partner and DSF colleague, Ryan Franks, and travels with Carly throughout the year to visit family, friends, and bucket list destinations.
