A recent birthday gift that made a lasting impact.
One recent birthday donation helped support a truly memorable moment for a local teenager and his family. Not every kid knows at 16 years old what their passion is for life, and that’s okay. However, for Isaac, he’s known for a long time that playing golf is what he wants to be doing at any given moment. Isaac is on his school’s varsity golf team; he works at his local driving range and plays for fun every weekend with his friends.
Not even a diagnosis of lymphoma could stop Isaac from getting out on the green to improve his skills. The chemotherapy treatments were grueling, but they didn’t keep him down for long. “There were times after his chemo where he would wake up sick in the morning, and by afternoon, he’d be out on the golf course because he’s that motivated,” said his mom, Jess. So, when Isaac was referred to Make-A-Wish® for a life-changing wish, he wished to upgrade his game with a set of custom golf clubs.
Birthday donations bring the joy of life to others.
Isaac’s face was priceless as he walked into his wish reveal at Scotch Valley Country Club to see all his friends, family and teammates and a huge display of golf gear. Among the pile of loot was a new rangefinder, a state-of-the-art Mevo+ Golf Launch Tracker, lots of golf balls and tees and a full set of custom-fit TaylorMade and Titleist clubs in a custom bag.
“I cannot believe these are mine... I don’t know how to even process this,” a stunned Isaac said. He was also gifted golf lessons and a one-year membership to a local golf club.
